Mary Williams is offering a series of six workshops covering the main social media channels & videos!
You’ll gain knowledge, confidence and an understanding of the value of an effective social media strategy for your businesses bottom line.
Workshops will consist of small, easy paced groups of 12 people.
These workshops are also helpful for those entrepreneurs who may want to outsource their social media.
Whether you already use social media for your business or are planning to – you’ll probably be asking yourself; how can I measure the return on investment (ROI)? To properly assess the ROI of your social media you’ll need to become familiar with a few basic analytics tools.
Social media is a real game changer when it comes to providing you with real numbers and statistics, as the data collected is based on hard facts. Social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc., monitor the various activities related to your site, such as: reach, engagement, shares, follows, likes, click throughs, etc. This data is available to you on your business and advertiser manager pages; understanding what it means and how to utilize it enables you to adapt your social media and advertising activities in very specific ways to achieve your desired business outcome.
This is very different from traditional advertising, such as radio, print and television; their data is based on assumptions and “sample audiences”. No one really knows if people looked at your ad on TV or in a magazine or newspaper; all you know is how many people bought the newspaper or watched the TV show that was shown when your ad was on. Social Media and Digital Marketing on the other hand, can show you exactly how many people saw your ad, how long it was displayed, who clicked on it and how many people bought your product following that ad.
Choosing the right social media channels for your business, placing the right advertisements and offering content that appeals to your audience are all important considerations you need to take to meet your objectives.
Social media marketing levels the playing field for small business owners, by enabling them to access a diverse range of affordable promotional and advertising opportunities to reach their current and potential customers easily.
It’s Farmers Market Season

Just 15 minutes from Nanaimo – Impressive in so many ways!
An idyllic setting, grassy fields, country air, beautiful mountains in the background and friendly people directing you to a very large amount of free parking! The local entrepreneur community is thriving here! From large and small and everything in between, some who shy away from social media because they want to remain small to those with a major online presence and bricks and mortar shops. Sunny Sunday in Nanaimo
The Harbour City
The bright citizens of Nanaimo had the foresight to create a multi-use harbour many years ago and obviously have made a great success of it. The harbour offers breath-taking views and provides for industry, business, tourism and public enjoyment. If you want more details about some of the challenges they faced, have a look at a YouTube piece created by Gary Prendergrast
The people of Nanaimo really do celebrate their harbour!
They have thought of every type of user, from boaters, to paddlers, joggers, and strollers, (both types), to those of us who also like to sit on the terraced waterside stairs and dip our toes in the ocean. For the little ones, there is an elaborate kids park. Nanaimo’s picturesque, harbour sits on the shoulders of the revitalized downtown core.
A meandering pathway runs along the harbour, where you can enjoy many gastronomic seaside delights like; The Best Fish and Chips, 3 years running at Trollers Fish and Chips, literally floating on the dock! or quench your thirst with a cold beer or refreshing glass of wine at the Lighthouse Bar and Restaurant and watch all the seafaring activities of the seagulls, boaters. And what seaside visit would be complete without some Ice Cream or Gelato or a cuppa tea, with what else a Nanaimo Bar.
After all this, you might need a walk! Enjoy a little boat time yourself; just jump on the walk on ferry, to New Castle Island. There you can enjoy, camping, a gentle 2-4 km hike, go for a swim in the ocean, ride your bike…….. sans cars!
Another adventure awaits, with a visit to the Dinghy Dock Pub, a short ferry ride over to Protection Island, all accessible from the harbour in Nanaimo.
If you love the Victorian Era and all it’s splendour, you’ll truly enjoy this “High Tea” especially over Christmas!
The tea is held annually at one of Vintage Hotel’s properties the Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the Lake, Ontario, just 30 minutes from Hamilton. The parlour is an elegant room, festooned with lavish Christmas decorations, sure to please any Victorian Era fan! The air was filled with the scent of aromatic teas from around the globe and the tables were bursting with delicious traditional afternoon tea, deserts.
My sister and niece brought me to here just before Christmas; what a wonderful surprise for me, a Victorian Era lover! This experience would make a lovely gift if you had relatives or clients in the area, especially if they enjoy feminine experiences like this. The hotel has a spa that my niece had the pleasure of experiencing during a recent weekend stay with her gal pals, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
I look forward to my return in the summer, to take in the
Shaw Festival and maybe a bit of Spa time
